Support for Ukraine: 12 international crowdfunding platforms, organizations and foundations

Foreign aid to Ukraine during the war is not limited to large-scale financial, humanitarian or military support from governments. Crowdfunding platforms operate abroad, which, among other things, can now support projects for the benefit of our state. In addition, many international organizations and foundations are specialized in fundraising for Ukraine. Donations for the benefit of Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens can now be made both on the usual popular platforms and on specialized resources aimed directly at supporting Ukraine.All of them can be used by citizens of Ukraine.

Fundraising platforms

International online resources through which foreigners support Ukraine on a daily basis:

• Gofundme - this crowdfunding platform, founded in 2010, can be considered one of the leaders in helping Ukraine. Campaigns in favor of Ukraine on Gofundme are aimed at helping in various areas: media support, medical and veterinary care and support for individual companies and people.
• JustGiving — this platform is a platform for dozens of projects to help Ukraine. Among them is the Play Your Part for Ukraine initiative, founded by Andriy Shevchenko. The project resource has already raised 300 thousand pounds. Other major projects include the £ 3.5 million Mail Force Ukraine Appeal to help refugees and the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, which has already raised £ 1 million for the same purpose.
• Kickstarter — here are projects that are indirectly designed to support Ukraine. For example, they are raising money for documentaries about Ukraine or resuming production of a Kyiv-based company that makes wooden maps.The platform is designed so that only a specific product can be supported, so it is not possible to make a donation that will go directly to humanitarian causes.
• Indiego — a resource to support ideas and innovation. Here you can support individual fundraising campaigns, make a donation not only to produce a particular product, but also to support volunteers. On the platform you can find projects aimed at humanitarian aid to Ukrainians.
• MightyCause — a resource for non-commercial fundraising. Donations can be made directly to humanitarian projects. This resource has already raised almost $ 150,000 to help Ukrainian refugees.

Organizations and funds

Many of these organizations already have a long history of helping Ukraine, and with the start of a full-scale war, they only had to adapt.

• Ukraine Now —  this resource is both a volunteer and a crowdfunding platform. On the one hand, you can offer your physical help. On the other hand - to support volunteering financially. The organization has been working to support Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and in a month and a half it has already managed to raise about $ 170,000. These funds go to various needs: delivery of humanitarian goods, evacuation of citizens, purchase of ambulances.
• Nova Ukraine — the site of this organization is both a crowdfunding platform and a volunteer platform. The peculiarity of the resource is that it focuses on cooperation specifically with American donors and volunteers.
• Save Ukrainian Culture  is a platform launched by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine together with the blockchain company Everstake on April 25, 2022. The purpose of the platform is to raise funds for the protection of Ukraine's cultural heritage: to help endangered cultural sites and to restore destroyed sites.
• Razom — this non-governmental organization supports the military and provides humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians. At the same time, the organization's website can be considered a separate crowdfunding platform. Donations can be made here in cryptocurrency, by check, and even by purchasing Ukrainian works of art. Visitors can choose what they want to spend money on: humanitarian aid, animal aid or migrant support.
• The U.S. — Ukraine Foundation  - the organization offers to help in different ways: send medicines, create a fundraising event or donate money. The fund aims to support Ukraine's institutional capacity and the leading role of civil society in Ukraine's development.Here you can make a donation in favor of the development of civil society organizations.•
• Canada-Ukraine Foundation — the fund raises money to help Ukraine in various ways: directly, through the site, as well as organizing charity evenings and concerts. The organization has already helped evacuate 2,500 hearing-impaired Ukrainians and provided humanitarian assistance to 20,000 refugees.
• British-Ukrainian Aid, a fund that, before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, provided assistance to orphans, the elderly, people with disabilities and displaced persons. From February 2022, he focused on medical care in Ukraine. You can support the organization online. In addition, the foundation organizes charity events in the UK.
