The Ministry of Finance announced the list of received financial assistance and their expectations for the future

In an interview with LB.ua, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko spoke about the state of affairs in the financial sphere during the war.In particular, he noted that the Government is negotiating financial support for Ukraine totaling up to 6 billion euros. We are talking about credit and grant support. 

What has Ukraine already received from Western partners?

• $ 1.4 billion was donated by the International Monetary Fund through the Rapid Financing Instrument. These funds are now in the treasury accounts. The IMF provides loans for 15 years at a minimum of 0, 887% per annum. 
• € 600 million in macro-financial assistance came in two tranches of € 300 million from the European Union. These funds were received under the EU macro-financial assistance program for 1.2 billion euros. Negotiations on the next programs and tranches are underway.
• € 312 million was received from the World Bank under the Development Policy Loan (DPL).
• 400 million out of the expected 668 million euros were allocated by the European Investment Bank.
• € 10 million in grant aid was provided by the Italian government.

More than $ 3 billion has been raised in the budget.

Expected credit and grant assistance

• Grant aid totaling about 360 million euros is expected from Britain, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland.
• The pre-war US government announced guarantees of $ 1 billion. Negotiations are under way to increase the amount.
• Currently, the World Bank and partner countries are creating a trust fund for our country, which already includes Sweden, the Netherlands and Austria. In particular, Sweden is ready to provide guarantees for $ 50 million, the Netherlands - for $ 89 million, Austria - $ 10 million.
• Negotiations are underway with the Government of Japan, the initial amount of loans is known - $ 100 million. There is a potential for increase.
• Two $ 150 million loan programs are being discussed with Germany. A memorandum has already been signed for the first one, the funds are to be received soon.
• Negotiations are also underway with France for a loan of 300 million euros.
• Canada has announced a $ 500 million loan program and the United Kingdom a $ 500 million loan program.
• In addition, UAH 26 billion was attracted from the sale of military bonds to the budget.
• So now the situation in the financial sector in Ukraine is stable.
• The Minister also noted that hundreds of billions of dollars are needed to rebuild Ukraine, so the work continues.
