Despite the fact that the Ukrainian energy system is currently operating relatively stably and the electricity supply to the regions affected by the enemy shelling is being rapidly restored, the Ukrainian energy market is still in dire need of international assistance.
This was announced by DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko in a comment to The New York Times.
"Despite targeted shelling of power grids and substations by the Russian occupiers, the power system continues to function," Timchenko said. "In the event of a serious blow to the energy system, Ukraine can now apply for emergency supply of electricity from the European system. This will help Ukraine maintain stable operation of the energy system and guarantee heat and light in the homes of Ukrainians in these difficult times. In the energy sector, Ukraine is already a part of Europe. ”
On March 16, the United Energy System of Ukraine joined the single energy system of the European Union - ENTSO-E. Integration into the EU's single energy system will increase the reliability of electricity supply to consumers.
